At Mountain-Bear we are passionate about the wonderful hills, mountains, peaks
and valleys of Snowdonia and the Lake District and we wish to share our enthusiasm and experiences with others.

JOIN US IN THE LAKE DISTRICT:
There are many classic horseshoe routes and Wainwright peaks in The Lake District.
Choose from the high and mighty Scafell Pike, Blencathra and Sharp Edge, Helvellyn together with Striding Edge and Swirral Edge.
There are also the more sedate but equally rewarding Crinkle Crags, Catbells and Haystacks, all wonderful names, indeed, wonderful peaks. Join us for a 3 or 4 day Hostel to Hostel trek.

NAVIGATION SKILLS TRAINING:
We offer NNAS Navigation Skills Training at Bronze and Silver level, both these courses are run over two days based in north Wales.
Courses are designed to give the candidate confidence in map and compass skills.
We are able to take groups of two, four or eight, the courses take an easy-going fun approach with a certificate at the end. Accommodation is available nearby.

ABOUT US:
The driving force behind Mountain-Bear is experienced mountain walker, published author (The Malvern Hills), award winning photographer, award winning graphic designer, exhibited artist and… story teller, Mike Smart.
Following many years working in advertising studios creating ideas to help others better their businesses Mike decided to re-set his compass and make his passion into a business.
He now helps others discover the wonders of our beautiful hills and mountains.
You’re in good hands – Mike is a qualified Mountain Guide, Walking Group Leader, Mountain First Aider, is trained by and affiliated to the Mountain Leader Training Association MLTA British Mountaineering Council BMC and National Navigation Award Scheme NNAS.
Mike is a regular on the Classic routes (and not so well knows routes) in Snowdonia and the Lake District plus, recent expeditions to the Knoydart, Western Highlands of Scotland, the Italian Dolomites, the French Pyrenees and the French Massive Central.
He is also a walking guide for a number of walking festivals,
